Delhi Monsoon Be Like…

It’s that time of the year again.

Or is it? 2016 feels like the first proper monsoon the city of Delhi has seen in 5 years or more!

While many parts of the world shy away from rainy weather, in Delhi, we celebrate it! Some of may choose to have poolside get-togethers, while others opt to splash about in the lakes around India Gate.

One look at the beautiful rainy skies may lead us to believe that the weather is perfect for a stroll in the park, but 90% humidity has its own way of making you change your mind. As a result, Delhi’s parks, even at their greenest, end up looking like:

Delhi’s other favourite activity also comes to a halt in this season. Even the most ardent protester may find their will being swayed by the scent of freshly made samosas wafting through the monsoon air.

Finally, you have the Delhi Metro experience complete with slick platforms, stifling train compartments, and the curious stares of your co-passengers.

Delhi’s monsoon is an experience in itself, and we’ll happy tolerate the humidity if it means we get a downpour in return.
